General Purpose of the Employee Relations Specialist Position: Investigate employee complaints and provide guidance to supervisors on the counseling and progressive discipline process, performance programs and evaluations, and a variety of employee relations matters.  Develop and improve programs related to employee morale, employee engagement and satisfaction.

Essential Duties include: Analyze employee relations issues; investigate employee complaints and consults legal and senior leadership as appropriate; make sound and timely recommendations for management action and ensure follow-through; coaches all levels of managers to develop their employees and improve performance; assists supervisors in understanding and implementing company policies related to performance, discipline and related topics; conducts exit interviews, summarizes findings and discusses trends and concerns with senior management.

Qualifications: Bachelor degree from four-year accredited College or University; and three to six years related experience and/or training.  Thorough understanding of human resources and labor relations principals, practices and procedures.  Requires effective oral and written communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, and computer literacy.  Ability to remain calm, tactful, and persuasive in controversial and/or confrontational situations.
